Seeking Advice: My Son Betrayed Me and I’m Struggling to Rebuild Our Relationship

I hope you’re all doing well. I’m reaching out today because I’m in a really tough spot and could use some advice. My son, Vincent, recently did something that I consider a betrayal. I never thought he was capable of such an act, and it’s left me feeling deeply hurt and confused.

Since the incident, I’ve stopped talking to him. Vincent has been trying to make amends and repair our relationship, but I find myself avoiding him. I know that avoiding the issue isn’t the healthiest approach, but I’m struggling to find a way to move past the hurt and rebuild our bond.

Has anyone else been through something similar? How did you handle it? What steps can I take to start healing and open up communication with Vincent again? Any advice or personal experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated.
