Seeking Advice: Hurt by Mother-in-Law’s Will

Dear Society Members,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Victoria, and I am reaching out to you today in search of guidance and perhaps some understanding from those who might have experienced similar situations.

Recently, my mother-in-law, Cora, passed away. While the loss itself has been hard on our family, the contents of her will have brought additional distress. In her will, Cora left her apartment to my husband’s brother, Larry, while my husband, Jacob, received nothing. This decision has left us both feeling confused, hurt, and somewhat betrayed.

I am struggling with intense feelings of injustice and resentment towards the situation. It’s difficult not to take this personally, and it’s putting a strain on our family dynamics. I find myself feeling angry and unable to move past this, which I know isn’t healthy.

I am reaching out to you all for advice on how to cope with these feelings. How can I support my husband during this time, and how do we move forward as a family? Any personal stories, advice on dealing with similar family issues, or strategies for managing these emotions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I look forward to any insights you may be able to provide.

Warm regards,

Victoria
