Need Advice: Mother-in-Law’s Unfair Treatment

Hey everyone,

I really need some advice on a tricky family situation. My mother-in-law, Penelope, has been giving my sister-in-law, Arianna, a decent amount of money regularly. Meanwhile, my husband Nathan and I only get help in the form of food. Don’t get me wrong, we appreciate the food, but it feels really unfair that Arianna gets financial support while we don’t.

To give you some context, Arianna hasn’t really done much to help herself. She doesn’t work and seems to rely heavily on Penelope for everything. On the other hand, Nathan and I are both working hard to make ends meet. We have bills to pay and could really use some extra financial support too.

I’ve tried talking to Nathan about it, but he doesn’t want to confront his mom. He thinks it will just cause more drama. I get that, but I also feel like we deserve to be treated fairly. It’s not like we’re asking for a handout; we just want the same support that Arianna is getting.

So, what do you guys think? Should I try to talk to Penelope myself? Or should I just let it go and be grateful for the food? Any advice on how to handle this without causing a family feud would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance!
