Seeking Advice on Family Conflict Over Caring for Our Ailing Mother

I hope you’re all doing well. I’m reaching out because I’m in a really tough spot and could use some advice. My name is Naomi, and I’m dealing with a difficult family situation involving my brother, Nathan, and our mother, Ariana.

A few months ago, our mother, Ariana, fell seriously ill and needed constant care. I stepped up to take care of her, but Nathan refused to help. To make matters worse, he intended to sell her apartment, which is her only home and a place filled with cherished memories. This decision was incredibly hurtful to both me and our mother.

Since then, neither my mother nor I have wanted to hear from Nathan. The emotional strain has been overwhelming, and I’m struggling to find a way to navigate this family conflict. I love my brother, but his actions have caused a deep rift between us.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did you handle it? Should I try to mend the relationship with Nathan, or is it better to keep our distance for now? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.
