Struggling to Connect with My Future Daughter-in-Law
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out because I’m in a bit of a dilemma and could really use some advice. My name is Ella, and I have a wonderful son named Harold who is engaged to a lovely woman named Nova. While I truly want to get along with Nova, I’m finding it quite challenging.
Recently, during a family gathering, I noticed that Nova spent most of her time lying in bed with a tablet on her lap, playing games. She seemed completely disengaged from the rest of us, and it felt like she was treating our home more like a hotel than a place to connect with family. I understand that everyone needs their downtime, but this behavior has been consistent, and it’s starting to worry me.
I want to build a positive relationship with Nova, but I’m not sure how to approach this situation without causing tension. Has anyone else experienced something similar? How did you handle it? Any advice on how to encourage more interaction and bonding would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best,
Ella
