Seeking Advice: Conflict with My Mom Over Caring for My Mother-in-Law

I’m reaching out because I’m in a really tough spot and could use some advice. My name is Valentina, and I recently had a big argument with my mom, Nova. The issue started when I decided to take care of my mother-in-law, Neveah, who has been very ill. My mom said something that really hurt me: “I thought I raised a daughter who would help her own mother, not someone else’s.”

I understand that my mom might feel neglected or hurt, but Neveah really needs my help right now. I’m torn between my responsibilities and my desire to support both important women in my life. I don’t want to damage my relationship with my mom, but I also can’t ignore my mother-in-law’s needs.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you handle it? Any advice on how to communicate better with my mom and make her understand my position would be greatly appreciated.
