“If You Love Me as Your Mother, Leave Him. Otherwise, You’ll Never See Me Again”: Said Mom
Victoria had always been a strong-willed woman. As a single mother, she had raised her daughter, Grace, with an iron fist and a heart full of love. Victoria’s life revolved around Grace, and she was determined to ensure her daughter had the best life possible. She monitored Grace’s every move, offered advice at every turn, and made sure she was always on the right path.
Grace, a bright and ambitious young woman, had always respected her mother’s guidance. She knew Victoria had sacrificed a lot for her, and she was grateful. But as Grace grew older, she began to crave independence. She wanted to make her own decisions and live her own life.
When Grace met Ethan, a charming and kind-hearted man, she felt an instant connection. Ethan was everything she had ever wanted in a partner. He was supportive, understanding, and loved her deeply. Grace was happier than she had ever been, but she knew her mother would not approve.
Victoria had always been wary of men. She believed they were distractions that could derail Grace’s future. When Grace introduced Ethan to her mother, Victoria’s suspicions were confirmed. She saw Ethan as a threat to her control over Grace and was determined to put an end to their relationship.
“Grace, you need to listen to me,” Victoria said one evening, her voice stern and unwavering. “Ethan is not good for you. He’s going to ruin everything we’ve worked so hard for.”
“Mom, you don’t even know him,” Grace replied, frustration evident in her voice. “Ethan loves me, and I love him. Why can’t you just be happy for me?”
“Because I know what’s best for you,” Victoria snapped. “I’ve always known what’s best for you. If you love me as your mother, you’ll leave him. Otherwise, you’ll never see me again.”
Grace was taken aback by her mother’s ultimatum. She had always known Victoria was controlling, but she had never expected her to go this far. Torn between her love for Ethan and her loyalty to her mother, Grace felt trapped.
Days turned into weeks, and Grace’s relationship with Ethan began to suffer. The constant pressure from her mother weighed heavily on her, and she found it difficult to enjoy the moments she spent with Ethan. She became distant, and Ethan noticed the change.
“Grace, what’s going on?” Ethan asked one evening as they sat in his apartment. “You’ve been so distant lately. Is everything okay?”
Grace looked into Ethan’s eyes, tears welling up. “It’s my mom,” she admitted. “She doesn’t want us to be together. She said if I don’t leave you, she’ll never speak to me again.”
Ethan’s heart sank. He had always known Victoria was a difficult woman, but he had never imagined she would go to such lengths to control Grace’s life. “Grace, I love you,” he said softly. “But I can’t stand by and watch you suffer because of your mother’s demands. You need to make a choice.”
Grace knew Ethan was right, but the decision was tearing her apart. She loved Ethan with all her heart, but she couldn’t bear the thought of losing her mother. In the end, the pressure became too much.
One evening, Grace met Ethan at their favorite park. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the landscape. “Ethan, I can’t do this anymore,” she said, her voice trembling. “I can’t lose my mom. I’m so sorry.”
Ethan’s heart broke as he watched Grace walk away. He knew she was making a choice out of fear, not love. As Grace returned home, she felt a deep sense of loss. She had chosen her mother, but in doing so, she had lost a part of herself.
Victoria was pleased with Grace’s decision, but the rift between them grew. Grace resented her mother for forcing her to choose, and their once-close relationship became strained. Grace’s dreams of a happy future with Ethan were shattered, and she was left with a lingering sense of what could have been.
